For everyone that joined in on this Tuesday night racing, you were delivered a treat from the wind gods and the keg gods. There was a nice southerly blowing in the river, maxing out at 12 knots. The RC was able to get 5 races off for each division with courses of Windward/Leeward or Triangles. There was great turnout from the competitors making for exciting starts and close competition. Then after the wonderful sailing, the SSA Board was stuck in a meeting but wanted the sailors to feel their pain, so they provided a keg for all. Even after the keg was empty the party continued well into the evening.

Some of the highlights of the racing included 4 youngsters crewing with dads. I think 3 of them are 5 and under, the other is 10. The Vanguards took advantage of the triangle course to have some screaming reaches. One sailor commented that it made his day to go so fast. A few of the lasers went belly up on capsizes, mainly during the aggressive downwind sailing we are used to watching them perform. Lightnings had a tight fleet of 5 boats and the 505's were training new crews who were able to trapeze for the first time.

The boat count was:
Laser (2 radials)29
Vanguard 1511
Lightning5
Snipe4
5053
Jet 142
MegaBytes2
Johnson 181
Tasar1
58

Thanks for coming out and we hope you had as much fun as the RC did.
