Here we go again and welcome to the 2004 edition of TESOD!

Unfortunately, the brisk north westerly breeze today will back and fade leaving us with light air from the west and south of west at TESOD time.

The water temperature is around 60 degrees. This does not make for wise sailing in shorts and t-shirts in a non-self-rescuing boat. Leave your Moth and Camets ashore, please, until things warm up a bit.

From Kieran of Feed-Your-Crew:
First TESOD SPECIAL of the Season:
Cooler evening temperatures calls for:
PASANDA COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY with FRAGRANT JASMINE RICE
$5 bucks

Later, at Davis' Pub, mention the top-secret password to our favorite bartender, Brian Wilson, and get a free draft beer. Envelope, please, and today's password is preposterous: (pri-POS-tuhr-uhs) adjective Nonsensical, absurd. [From Latin praeposterus (inverted, literally: first coming last),from prae (before) + posterus (coming after).]

In 2003 we had 13 days of racing consisting of 222 races for an average of a little over 17 races a night. Twenty different one-design classes raced. We averaged 41 boats per night--the high point being 76 boats on 16 July and the low point being 24 boats on 14 May. We lost three evenings because of no wind and one because of too much, the thunderstorm of 26 August.

The average number of boats by class per evening stands below:

Vanguard 15 5.92
