20 August 2003

Good Morning,

Had you gone to the bank with the southerly we had evening last they would have given you the gate. That was barely a southerly at all. Yes, we did get six races in but that's because when ever there were more then two boats in the starting area--never mind the class--we fired the Ollie off.

Laser 13
Snipe 6
505 4
Byte 4
Jet 14 2
Vanguard 15 2
Day Sailor 1
420 1

That isn't to say we didn't have fun. Goodness no. There were a lot of sailors you came down to SSA but didn't launch, added to those strong hearts who did launch made a great social mix after the racing was over. Kieran had a great pork chop special--$4.76--the Snipe fleet had their barbecue going, and there were pockets of gabby laughing racers all over the place. Later, a large group made it to Davis, had one free beer, then maybe hoisted a few more.

Next Tuesday, 26 August, we'll have better breeze--you can take that to the bank--and we're starting the racing at six. Don't be late.

Ciao,

Alden Bugly
