12 AugustGood Morning,
From afar and at modem speeds: Nan Walker will be running the races this evening. She’ll use the three-minute Ollie. The two-minute Ollie slipped overboard two weeks ago and the replacement hasn’t arrived yet.
NOAA predicts: “TODAY S WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. WAVES 1 FT. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. TONIGHT S WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. WAVES 1 FT. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.” The way cool wind site confirms. Expect a decent southerly.
After racing, there’ll be a free keg of beer courtesy of the SSA Board of Governors and Feed-Your-Crew will have another wonderful special.
The secret password that will get you a free beer at Davis’ later is “skulk:” skulk \SKUHLK\, intransitive verb: 1. To hide, or get out of the way, in a sneaking manner; to lurk. 2. To move about in a stealthy way. 3. To avoid responsibilities and duties. noun: 1. One who skulks. 2. A group of foxes. Skulk is from Middle English skulken, ultimately of Scandinavian origin.
First start's at 6:00. Don't be late.
Ciao,
Alden Bugly
